SHOULDER REHABILITATION

Shoulder  is one of the major and complex joint of the human body which allows us to push, pull, carry  or manipulate things. This makes the shoulder joint prone to injuries or trauma,  impingement,  repetitive muscle injuries.

Faulty posture, contact sports, auto accidents, injury at work, extensive use of computer and mobile are major contributors of pain, tightness, weakness and sometime even soft tissue impingement.  Common injuries include but are not limited to rotator cuff tendinitis, frozen shoulder, impingement and muscle strain.

Physical Therapy techniques such as joint mobilization using single or combination of glides, taping, progressive shoulder strengthening  exercises using weight, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization helps relieves myofascial tightness to improve mobility, increase range of motion and reduce pain.

The key to successful recovery of function for shoulder injuries is to improve shoulder: scapular gliding. We help our patients by providing appropriate treatment plans, supervised exercises and setting appropriate goals.

HAND THERAPY

Our hands have lot of bones and muscles working in unison to allow us to perform our day to day activities including eating, working, sports, texting etc. If you are suffering from conditions like Arthritis, Tennis Elbow, Carpal Tunnel, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Tendon transplant surgery or torn tendon from a sports injury or any other muscular issues with shoulder, elbow, wrist or hand affects our quality of life and can also interfere with our work

Physical Therapists use evidence based treatment approach to help patients suffering from chronic pain, loss of sensation, arm weakness or injuries to reduce joint stress and improve joint alignment. With proper treatment and care a patient can improve muscle strength, get relief from pain, regain nerve function and better manage their injuries and prevent further aggravation.

Some of the techniques used by our therapist include gentle joint mobilization to improve blood flow, strengthening and stretching  exercises and endurance based activities of the arm. Functional training  forms an integral part of Hand Therapy to help individuals return to their daily activities.
